Hello — I'm Dinah.
A heart for helping others rest in Jesus and listen for His voice.
How I came to this work
My background is in education and ministry. I began as a gifted education teacher after earning my B.S.Ed. in Elementary Education. Later, God led me into cross-cultural ministry — I completed a Master's in Religion and served overseas among unreached people groups, helping plant churches.
I also hold a Master's in TESOL and currently teach ESL to adult immigrants at a community college — work that, in its own quiet way, has continued the slow, attentive companionship I have come to love.
Spiritual direction is the most recent invitation in this thread. Through it, I love creating a gentle and prayerful space where people can slow down, rest in God's presence, and notice how He is moving in their lives.
Training and credentials
I completed a two-year certification in Spiritual Direction through Sustainable Faith.
My broader formation includes a B.S.Ed. in Elementary Education, a Master's in Religion, and a Master's in TESOL — formations that have shaped how I listen and walk alongside others.
A particular heart for ministry workers and missionaries
Having served overseas in church planting and lived inside the demands of cross-cultural ministry, I know how easily those who care for others can lose track of where God is meeting them. If you are a pastor, missionary, ministry leader, or someone serving on the mission field, please reach out — I would consider it a real gift to walk with you.
How I work
I tend toward a quiet, prayerful style: I listen mostly, ask gentle questions, occasionally name what I am sensing, and trust that the Holy Spirit is the real director. I rarely give advice and never push a particular outcome. I am most at home with directees who:
- Want a slow rhythm rather than a quick fix.
- Are willing to sit with not-knowing — to let a question stay open for a few sessions.
- Bring a real life into the room, with its joy and weariness and mess and beauty all welcome.
I welcome directees from across the breadth of Christian traditions. The work of attention does not require theological agreement; it asks only your honest life, brought into the conversation.
Outside of direction
I'm a mom of three teenagers and have been married to my husband for over twenty years. I love spending time with my family, traveling, and taking long walks with my dog.
